Connecting generations one story at a time.
By fostering dialogue through our high school-led programs, we aim to bridge the gap between young and older generations, promoting understanding and mutual respect.

Our Mission
What we are here to do
The Inkstone Project fosters intergenerational connections to combat senior isolation, enhance mental well-being, and preserve personal histories—ensuring wisdom and advice is shared and remembered across generations.

Our History
How our story began
Brothers Ethan and Steven Huang, ages sixteen and fourteen, were raised largely by their grandparents. One day, the grandparents went to China and were unable to return due to travel restrictions from COVID. Years later, missing them sparked the brothers’ wish to create similar intergenerational connections
In early May of 2024, the brothers met Yuchi, a board member at the Chinese Culture and Community Center (CCACC) with the same goal, which led to the creation of the Inkstone Project for preserving and sharing intergenerational stories. Friends Zack Lam and Alicia Yang joined that June to co-found a summer program at the CCACC Adult Day Healthcare Center. At the senior center, they launched their first pilot program, consisting of three visits to CCACC to speak with the seniors and publish their stories.
